You can probably say that my routine consists both makeup and skincare. Since starting with makeup, the amount I apply daily has decreased significantly and the quality has increased to say the least.
Most of the products I use are mainly skincare and the makeup is just an extra to enhance my features.
Step 1: Face wash
The first thing I do every morning is wash my face with either a gel based face wash or a very gentle exfoliator (usually use this towards the summer time).
I have extremely oily skin so this step is crucial.
The face wash or scrubs differs from day to day. For example, if I only quickly want to wash my face with a soap I use a gel based or cream based formula and days I feel my skin is a little dull and oily, I use a gentle exfoliator.
Here are some products I rotate between:
(My Fav) Bio Clin Acnelia C Cleansing Gel
This is a gel cleanser that formulated directly for acne prone skin
SIMPLE Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash
St IVES Blemish Control Scrub
CETAPHIL Gentle Skin Cleanser
For more dry skin, these are some great options:
DERMA E Hydrating Cleanser
FRESHSoy Face CleanserPHILOSOPHYPurity Made Simple Cleanser
Step 2: SPF (most important)
No joke, as soon as my skin only glimpses the sun, the bumps, itching and rash just pop out almost instantly. My skin so so sensitive to the sun, I have to apply SPF while Im home, sitting on the couch. But I'm sure I'm not the only one out there with this problem. I apply my SPF skipping moisturiser since SPF creams makes my skin oily.
OLAYRegenerist Micro Sculpting UV Cream SPF 30
CETAPHIL Dermacontrol Oil Free Fcaila Moisturising Lotion SPF 30
BIODERMA Photoderm LEB SPF 30
Step 3: BB Cream
I try to avoid wearing foundation on an everyday basis since my skin is acne prone, with the exception of days where I have presentations or special events where I need a little more coverage.
Great For oily skin:
L'oreal Paris Nude Magique BB Cream (My current favourite)
L'oreal Paris Age Age Perfect BB Cream
(I personally think that L'oreal Paris make the best BB creams, they have very reasonable coverage while looking very natural!)
For dry skin:
GARNIER Cream Sensitive SPF
MODELS PREFER BB Cream Aqua Focus
Step 4: Powder
I only use the smallest amount just to set the creams and mattify my skin.
My ABSOLUTE favourite powder that looks invisible is the Dermablend Loose Setting Powder which is a little pricier. A great dupe is the RCMA Translucent Powder!
Any translucent or slightly coloured powder will work, just don't pack it on!
Step 5: Bronzer, Mascara and Lip Balm
Just to bring a little life back into my skin, a touch of bronzer on the perimeters of the face and over the nose to give some colour. This pulls everything together and gives that enhanced natural look. And of course finally mascara and tinted lip balm.
PHYSICIANS FORMULA Bronze Booster
HOURGLASS Ambient Lighting Bronzer (a little expensive but does give a very natural, 'glow from within' look)
BENEFIT Hoola Bronzer
BENEFIT Roller Lash
EYEKO Skinny Brush Mascara
NIVEA Lip Balms
